The Parcel is a small flower farm situated on a scenic hillside in Cold Spring, NY. It's operated by us: Marcella and Sam. Marcella runs a local floral design business and was inspired by the lack of local, sustainably grown flowers in our area. The Parcel was born after she figured "if it's hard for me to find them professionally... imagine how hard it is for everyone else".
We've spent the last few years taking classes, interning, developing the land and testing out our growing methods. We're so thrilled to finally be ready to share our results with you: our neighbors. 2019 will be the inaugural year for our CSA!
We believe flowers are suited for more than special occasions, so our mission is to bring fresh, sustainably grown flowers to our community. We’re also a small, family-owned operation that needs the support of our community to stay alive. A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) lets us accomplish both.
When you join our CSA, you pay for your share of fresh flowers before the seasons starts. This enables us to buy seeds, prepare the beds, and start growing! Once the season begins, you can pick up your freshly harvested share every week. With fresh water every few days, local flowers can last 1-2 weeks!
Full/Weekly Share (12 weeks): $220
Half/Bi-weekly Share (6 weeks): $130
Weekly Share (6 weeks): $150
We are so excited to partner with you this season!
Once you sign up, we'll send you an invoice for your share. As a member, we'll update you regularly on our progress and keep you informed about pickup location and schedule.
Have questions? We have FAQs here and you can always contact us.
Our pickup location will be in Cold Spring, NY. Pickups will be on Thursdays during the season and pickup location will be communicated with CSA members once the share is purchased.
No, all shares must be picked up at the pickup location (TBD) in Cold Spring, NY.
You can designate someone else to pick up your share if you are unable to. Please let us know (in advance) the name of the person who will be picking up your share. Any bouquets not picked up will be gifted to a local nursing home or rehab center.
We will be harvesting from June-Oct. Our Mixed Bouquet shares will be harvested from June-Sept and our Dahlia share will be harvested from Sept-Oct. The precise start date of each share is dependent on weather and growing conditions.
A CSA consists of a group of members who come together to support a farm by purchasing "shares" in advance, before the growing season starts. Members also share the risks associated with farming and poor harvests due to unpredictable weather conditions, pests, natural disasters, etc. In return for their commitment, members receive a bountiful share of what we harvest throughout the growing season.
